The Mother Road
2026 is the 100th Anniversary of Route 66...the road that introduced millions of Americans to New Mexico, and probably put Albuquerque on the map! We're honoring the Mother Road with a road trip to remember. Routes have been selected that include pre and post 1937 alignments of Route 66 in New Mexico as well as some period correct alternates. All this to minimize 'there and back' and interstate driving. 2 stages - East & West - and we'll cover almost all of the Mother Road in New Mexico. All members are invited to drive both stages or only the East or West stages. The registration fee is the same whether you choose one or both. The registration fee of $40 is per car includes organization, a custom route book, and memorabilia.
EAST STAGE
April 9 Albuquerque to Tucumcari - Approximately 240 miles (4 miles of Interstate)
Overnight at the Roadrunner Lodge - recently renovated and very cool Route 66 motel. No fee cancellation 1 week prior to arrival.

April 10 Tucumcari to Albuquerque - Different route to minimize overlap however there are sections of Interstate (17 miles and 16 miles). We will visit the Route 66 Auto Museum in Santa Rosa

WEST STAGE
April 11 Albuquerque to Gallup - Approximately 160 miles (7 miles of Interstate)
Overnight at the famous and historic El Rancho Hotel - recently renovated and amazing Route 66 hotel
Reserve by calling 505-863-9311 then press 1 - Ask the agent for a room from the BA0A route 66 drive block - reserve early as rooms are very limited - payment will not be taken until check-in however a cc is required to reserve. 1 day prior to arrival cancellation
April 12 Gallup to Albuquerque - Different route to minimize overlap and will include a stop at El Morro. Will include 7 or 27 miles of interstate depending on options chosen.
